Single Service Desk to Better Serve Your Needs

We’ve made it even easier for you to get help in the Library. We now have a single service desk, instead of two separate desks for Reference and Access Services.  A librarian will be available at the Access Services Desk and on call to serve your needs.

For your convenience we also offer our “Ask Us” chat and email reference service, available from the Library’s web pages. You can “talk” to us without leaving your office. And of course as always you can call us at 914-594-4210.

Librarians are available for orientations, special in-class sessions, and library tours.  Get to know your Librarian Liaison and consider them your personal contact in the library to ask any questions or arrange a special session.

Librarians are always available for consultations too.  Fill out a consultation request form to let us know what you need help with, and we’ll set up an appointment time. Consultations can be held in person or via GoToMeeting, and may include topics such as using RefWorks and EndNote, searching PubMed or other databases, citation formatting for papers or theses, PowerPoint, and more.

We can provide expert literature searching if you’re having trouble finding the articles you need, and then assist throughout the research process by providing guidance on search strategies and citation formatting.

Several classes are offered at the Library. If you feel like learning on your own, we’ve got that covered too – check out our video tutorials and tip sheets.

What do you think about the single service desk? We’d love to hear from you.
