Library Login Will Not Require SSN Soon

The library will soon complete the process necessary to change its off-network authentication method. The new method will require users to enter their library barcode number and instead of their Social Security number, use their last name as a password. This will end long-running security concerns related to use of the SSN. At this point we are not exactly sure when the new authentication method will become effective, so stay alert to changes, and if your SSN stops working, use your last name to log in instead.

If you are a new student and you need access to library resources before this change takes place, contact Access Services at 914-594-4200 to temporarily activate SSN access in the interim.
