It’s official! We are honored to now be the Phillip Capozzi, M.D. Library.
With incredible gratitude to Phillip D. Capozzi, M.D. ’96 for his generous donation in support of the library, the library vows to wear the name well and preserve the legacy and honor inherent the the story of resilience and determination that has guided Dr. Capozzi’s life.
The library celebrated the renaming with a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 20th. It was a joyous celebration with Dr. Capozzi, his family, friends, New York Medical College leadership and colleagues. Dr. Capozzi, who started medical school after 20 years in successful real estate practice, spoke of the significance the occasion. “I was given a second chance at life. [The faculty and administration] wanted me to succeed,” Dr. Capozzi said. “I made a commitment 30 years ago that if I did succeed, I would make provisions to benefit this medical school. I am here today to fulfill that commitment.”
