The Touro University System is pleased to announce the Touro University Open Educational Resources (OER) Faculty Fellowship 2022. This fellowship is intended to support faculty to develop or adopt an open resource for use in their course and includes a stipend of $500 in support.
Please find the application and more information here. The deadline for submission is May 13th, 2022. We strongly encourage interested faculty to contact Kirk Snyder (Touro University OER & Instruction Librarian, kirk.snyder3@touro.edu) ahead of submitting your application.
All full-time, part-time and adjunct faculty at New York Medical College or the Touro College of Dental Medicine with anticipated teaching responsibilities for the 2022-2023 academic year are eligible to apply.
Since Touro began supporting faculty using open resources in 2018, professors have saved students nearly $300,000 in textbook costs. There is an abundance of open and adaptable content on the web purposed for higher education, including open textbooks, quizzes, syllabi, test banks, worksheets, and other resources that are practical for faculty and save students thousands of dollars per year.
We aim to help students alleviate the significant costs associated with a medical education. Librarians can help you identify and adopt a quality open resource to replace one that is costly for students. For more information about this fellowship or open education resources generally, please contact librarians Kirk Snyder or Jeanette Aprile.
