In an effort to increase our students’ USMLE scores and facilitate self-directed learning and formative feedback, NYMC has subscribed to the USMLE Easy Board preparation resource.
USMLE Easy includes:
- More than 11,000 questions covering Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 with detailed explanations.
- Adaptive learning technology that creates a personalized study plan for each student based on their strengths and weaknesses.
- Instructor tools that give faculty the ability to create and assign tests to students. Instructors can monitor student performance and provide each student with personalized feedback.
- Self-directed study that enables students to work at their own pace. Provides recommended reading assignments in the AccessMedicine suite of resources based upon individualized needs.
Students must register at https://www.new.usmle-easy.com/institution before being able to log in, and faculty who wish to be set up with an instructor account must email Jacob Nunnally at jacob_nunnally@nymc.edu (only Jacob can create instructor accounts). Once students are logged in the intuitive dashboard will appear:
From the dashboard students can select which Step to take, create a quiz on one or more subject areas or organ systems (or take an adaptive practice quiz the database creates based on the student’s quiz performance), see their quiz performance and percentile rank, access recommended readings (based on quiz performance), and more.
Faculty who wish to be set up with an instructor account must email Jacob Nunnally at jacob_nunnally@nymc.edu. Once the instructor account has been activated, faculty can create and assign quizzes by selecting questions and assigning them to groups of students:
The HSL staff are in the process of creating an instructional video for students and for faculty. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact Jacob Nunnally at jacob_nunnally@nymc.edu or 914-594-3172.
