The HSL has added new resources to our Web of Science subscription: Citation Connection databases, Journal Citation Reports (with a brand-new interface), and Essential Science Indicators.
The Citation Connection databases add a vast amount of content to Web of Science: more than 150,000 conference proceedings, 50,000 scholarly books, 3.3 million data studies and data sets, 23.6 million inventions, more than 51.8 million patents, and much more. This added content will impact the depth and scope of NYMC faculty research. The following table gives the names, inclusive date ranges, and descriptions of each Citation Connection database within Web of Science:
Conference Proceedings | Book Citation Index | Data Citation Index | Biosis Citation Index | Derwent Innovations Index | Zoological Records | Current Contents Connect | Current Chemical Reactions | Index Chemicus |
1990-Present | 2005-Present | 1900-Present | 1926-Present | 1963-Present | 1864-Present | 1998-Present | 1985-Present | 1993-Present |

To access any of these databases, go to Web of Science and click the orange arrow at the top of the screen:
Journal Citation Reports allows researchers to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from approximately 12,000 scholarly and technical journals and conference proceedings from more than 3,300 publishers in more than 60 countries. (Click here for off-campus access to JCR.)
Essential Science Indicators is a unique compilation of performance statistics and trends extrapolated from counts of articles published in scholarly journals and the citations to those articles. By means of citation statistics, this resource allows users to explore influential researchers, institutions, and articles in particular fields of study. (Click here for off-campus access to ESI.)
