Dr. Elizabeth Drugge, PhD, MPH, along with Ellen Kiley, LMT, CPT, RYT, will lead a session providing a basic overview of the National Inpatient Sample database. If you’ve heard about it, are not sure if you can do it, or have any questions about it, this session is for you! A question and answer period will follow.

To prepare for this session:

  • Please review the materials at https://guides.library.nymc.edu/nisdata
  • Complete the HCUP DUA Training course, Data Use Agreement form, NYMC Voluntary Attestation, and request access to the data set.

Dr. Drugge will be presenting a method using STATA statistical software. You may wish to purchase/rent this software if you don’t have access to it already (https://www.stata.com/order/new/edu/profplus/student-pricing/). Alternatively, you can use SPSS software available on library computers.

The session will be recorded and made available at the link on the library web site above.

Additionally, Dr. Drugge will be holding office hours for analysis support in the library computer lab (Room 108) on Wednesdays from 12-3 PM beginning the following Wednesday.
