This month’s additions to The Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection contain the first talks in a new series on Ecology, edited by Prof. David J. Gibson. Also included, are talks on the management of systemic lupus erythematosus, RNA interference functions and mechanisms in animals, advances in diagnosis and interventions in ophthalmology, and more.
Included in the “more” is Prof. Andrew Lotery’s review of the role of epigenetics in age-related macular degeneration and the potential of future novel treatments.
Congratulations to two of HSTalks’ speakers on receiving 2017 Nobel Prizes:
- Prof. Jeffrey Hall (Cracking the case of circadian rhythms by Drosophila genetics) – awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm.
- Prof. Joachim Frank (Structural insights into aminoacyl-tRNA delivery by EF-Tu and translocation by EF-G) awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing cryo-electron microscopy for high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution.
