Since January 2013, the Health Sciences Library has been using Springshare‘s LibGuides software to build subject and resource guides for the NYMC community. The original LibGuides software was created in 2007, and the Internet and website design and functionality have evolved in many ways since then. When Springshare announced they would be releasing a new version of LibGuides, the librarians at the Health Sciences Library decided to get on board. We have migrated all of the content from our LibGuides v1 site into our new LibGuides v2 site, and today the new site is live!
In LibGuides you’ll find links to Academic Department and Course pages – subject guides created by library liaisons, Exhibit guides with supplemental resources, Library Class pages, Library Help guides, and NYMC Heritage Collection guides – biographical and historical resources about the portraits and ephemera displayed throughout NYMC’s campus.
If you’ve been accessing guides from the Library Homepage, you will still be able to do so – just click on the “Guides” tab:
All existing links to LibGuides will direct to the updated site – if you have bookmarked a guide for easy access, there’s no need to update the URL. However, there may be some bugs or errors, and we have been working to thoroughly review all of the content in the new system. (On this note, the guide associated with the NYMC Fitness Challenge is currently being recreated in the new system – see our blog post for more information about the challenge.) If you spot any other errors or are having trouble finding a guide, contact Phoebe Stein at phoebe_stein@nymc.edu.
