NYMC Fit: Join the challenge!!

The Health Sciences Library has teamed up with the School of Medicine Student Senate during Student Wellness Week to create “NYMC Fit,” a university wide fitness challenge. We want everyone to try it — faculty, students, staff, and even your family members are welcome. The challenge will use the free, web-based software, LoseIt! to track exercise and/or food intake in a lightly competitive fashion. Most of the challenges set up during this first trial of this program are individual challenges but there is a challenge set up to pit team against team, House against House.

There’s a weight loss challenge, a calorie-burner challenge, a fruit and vegetable consumption challenge, and a few all-around “LoseIt!” challenges. If you are concerned about privacy, feel free to make your account anonymous. And as always talk to your health care provider before beginning any new fitness regiment. Most challenges are set to run from September 15-October 31, so please sign up today!!

How to Join:

  1. Create a FREE account at loseit.com.
  2. Send a friend request to NYMC Student Senate .
  3. Join challenges.
  4. Log food intake and/or exercise completed and earn points in challenges!
  5. There will be prizes awarded. But do it for you.
