What’s this “Server 1” and “Server 2” on the Library login box?

December 16, 2013 Marie Ascher

You may have noticed a change on the library’s login screen.  It looks like this:

server1server2

where you now have a choice to either click on “server-1” or “server-2.” There’s a reason for this: better access! We now have two servers for authentication, so if one is down or not accessible from your site, try the other! This should help ameliorate some of the problems we experience from time to time due to firewall and security issues for some users.

Server-1 is “lproxy.nymc.edu” and server-2 is “library.nymc.edu.”

As always, let us know if you have questions or if you are experiencing difficulty getting in.
