Library administration along with representatives from the Student Senate have agreed to try allowing coffee and other beverages in the library during the month of February. Right up front let’s be clear: there is still to be no food in the library without formal consent.
This allowance is on a trial and if successful will continue but with constant monitoring and may be revoked at any time.
Here’s the deal: All beverages (not just coffee!) must be in hard closeable containers. This includes travel mugs and bottles with lids. No takeout cups from the cafeteria, paper or styrofoam containers, or open mugs or cups.
Simple right??
And… this is important…
If you either bring food or non-compliant containers with beverages into the library, or if food waste is found in the library, that is a STRIKE for all. Three strikes and permission to possess beverages in the library (except water) is revoked for a week (by cooper here). The student senate representatives will be notified (with your name) and will put the policy into place.
You don’t want to be responsible for that.
In a nutshell…
NO FOOD.
BEVERAGES ONLY IN HARD TOP CONTAINERS.
THREE STRIKES AND YOU ARE ALL OUT.
Don’t ruin it for everyone.
The complete policy will be posted in the library and available on the library website.
