Internet Search 3.0?
Google Squared, Wolfram Alpha, and Microsoft Bing
Major players in the internet search engine game are looking at new ways to present search results to internet users. Instead of presenting lists of links as results, these new search engines are designed to present results as predigested categorical data. In this step toward a more “semantic web,” emergent players are Google Squared, Wolfram Alpha, and Microsoft Bing. This workshop will discuss and demonstrate these products and what they mean to web searchers and the development of Web 3.0, with hands-on opportunity.
To be held Tuesday June 23, 3:00 – 4:00 in the Health Sciences Library Rm. 108.
