Touro University and New York Medical College are pleased to announce the launch of a new addition to Touro Scholar:

TouroData: Research Data Catalog of Touro University and New York Medical College.

The goal of TouroData is to collect the records of research data produced by Touro and NYMC scholars and hosted across multiple data repositories in one central location. This will improve the visibility and discoverability of these research efforts, as well as encourage collaboration and future research.

Here are some frequently asked questions about TouroData:

Can TouroData host my research data?

No, TouroData is a data catalog, not a repository.  If you need help locating an appropriate repository for your research data, you can schedule a meeting with a librarian who would be happy to help you. Once your data is in a data repository, we add a record of your research data to the catalog.

What kind of research data qualifies for a record in TouroData?

The data must be original. This means the data was collected or generated through your research efforts. Secondary datasets (such as data from the CDC or HCUP, etc.) do not qualify for an entry in the catalog.

The data must be research data, meaning it was created or generated for the purpose of asking a specific research question or questions.

The data must be hosted in an official data repository with a permanent link or DOI. Data hosted on private servers or computers cannot be added to the catalog because we cannot link to those places from the catalog.

The data must have been generated or collected while you were affiliated with Touro University or New York Medical College.

Can I submit a record of my research data for inclusion in TouroData?

Yes, we’d love to include a record of your research data! Please complete the form on this website to submit a record of your data to the catalog.
