As we approach the end of the academic year, many summer research opportunities will begin soon. To kick off a strong research project, you need to be prepared for the type of research you will undertake. Below is a collection of handy guides from the Capozzi Library to help you have a successful research effort this summer.
Conducting a Systematic Review: If you are considering working on a Systematic Review or similar evidence synthesis project, this in-depth guide walks you through the steps of the process and includes several recorded videos from librarian-led sessions on Systematic Reviews.
Data for Research: If you are collecting new data or planning to use a secondary dataset, this guide will help you boost your research data management skills. It can help you create a data management plan, locate a secondary dataset, and fully describe and prepare data for sharing in a data repository.
The Office of Student Research has purchased a few years of the National Inpatient Sample and National Readmissions Database to support student research. To access these datasets, you must complete an IRB proposal and submit the appropriate documentation, outlined on each page.
Scholarly Communication: This guide contains a wealth of resources to help you locate a journal to submit your research to and help you understand open access and the peer review process.
As always, the librarians of the Capozzi Library are ready to assist you and help you reach your research goals. Set up a consultation with a librarian to discuss your summer research ideas!
