Edwin Brown Jenks, M.D. (1877-1945), a member of the Class of 1901 at New York Medical College, founded the Diamond Point Emergency Medical Service, the first rural emergency medical service in New York State. The emergency medical service was started as a result of the lack of medical providers due to the military draft in WWII.
